Dr Alan Baker

    Dr Alan Baker is a materials scientist specialising in advanced fibre composite materials, including polymer, metallic and ceramic matrix composites and structural adhesive bonding. His pioneering work on the bonded composite repair of aircraft structures has saved Australia many hundreds of millions of dollars. He is on the editorial board of three international scientific journals and has edited and contributed to several books, including a very popular text book Composite Materials for Aircraft Structures published by American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
